ATHLETIC TRAINING GRANT

We are proud to partner with outstanding local businesses to help cultivate the next generation of upcoming athletes. If you are a high school athlete passionate about giving your all in athletics and academics, this may be the opportunity for you. Each year our incredible local sponsors will help 4 hard-working high school student athletes receive 3 months FREE training at UFIT to assist them in their pursuit of an athletic scholarship. This grant was created to give back to the community in a unique way by supporting the important connection between education and athletics. This program is inspired by the wonderful people in the Kingston community who helped Josh, UFIT co-founder, to excel both athletically and academically before he went on to play football at Bishop’s University and for the CFL Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

"Over the past four months, I have had the privilege of training at UFIT Kingston as the first recipient of their Athletic Training Grant, sponsored by Petrie Ford. Since May I have become both physically and mentally tougher and feel very prepared to start my season. I have been surrounded by a great community and athletes and coaches to push me to the best of my ability. Josh has been very accommodating with my busy schedule and has let me come in to train at different times and has always pushed me to be better. Over my time training in the offseason, I have gotten significantly stronger and more mentally resilient which is translated to my game on ice making me faster, stronger, and have better endurance. As I go back into season I feel very prepared to excel in my upcoming season playing for the Kingston Jrs."

"I am so thankful for the opportunity to have received the UFIT Athletic Grant. I love working out at UFIT as the staff encourage us to push ourselves beyond our limits and outside our comfort zone. The expert coaching staff and amazing facilities have played a pivotal role in my physical, mental, and personal development as an athlete. I love working out with fellow athletes in the UFIT community that share the same passion for personal athletic development. Receiving this grant has made my goals of post-secondary and professional athletics more of a reality, giving me the tools and support required to excel in football. It also allowed me to stay injury free during the fall football season where I was recognized as the MVP of the KASSAA Football Championships. I am proud to be a part of the UFIT Kingston family!"
